Is Trump preparing for WW III? If he is, he is seriously mistaken if he thinks Russia is not already prepared for that eventuality. Going to war with Russia means going to war with China and North Korea as well.
Russia, for the past ten years, has been building underground shelters to house not only government officials but the general populous as well. It has a missile defense system, next to none, that renders incoming missiles inoperable using a state-of-the-art S-400 long-range air defense missile systems. In fact, the attack by the U.S. on a Syrian airport last week was, in part, to test that missile defense system by the Pentagon and Department of Defense officials. The U.S. forewarned the Russian military liaison of the upcoming attack as a courtesy(?). Putin decided not to respond either defensively or offensively, even though Syria is one of its closest allies. What’s going on here?
Think about it. If Putin and Trump were playing the game of “chicken,” who do you think would swerve first? (Movie: Fast and the Furious)
Trump fires his enemies and subordinates like he does in the TV reality program, You’re Fired!” Putin, on the other hand, has the SVR (formerly the KGB) assassinate his political enemies, no questions asked. One forgets that Putin came to power via a brilliant career in the KGB with its intrigue, surveillance and sabotage expertise. Trump is a novice in this arena of international politics.
You might say “the emperor has no clothes,” meaning Trumps thinks he can rule the U.S. and the world, but is without the credentials, and subsequently, the necessary skills to do so. He, like the naked emperor, pretends based on what his advisors tell him. Trump actions are his advisors as he depends on them to make himself feel more intellectual, more aggressive and powerful than he really is. A really good businessman surrounds him or herself with people better than he, but there is the danger of being deposed by the very people with which you surround yourself.
Yesterday’s Democracy Now! program provides as good an analysis, as any, on the dynamics of a U.S./Russian confrontation. To hear what the mainstream media will never tell you, visit Link TV or PBS where Amy Goodman and Juan González serve as hosts.
