Two Chicago police officers say they have faced retaliation and suffered from PTSD since they blew the whistle on a gang of their fellow cops who were demanding bribes from drug dealers in the housing projects of Chicago.
Reporter Jamie Kalven spoke with one of the whistleblowers, Shannon Spalding, who documented their ordeal in a major investigation for The Intercept.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he met with Spike Lee recently and expressed his displeasure with the director’s decision to call a movie he’s planning to film “Chiraq,” which Emanuel said Lee told him would be about black-on-black violence in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.
