The secret “Deep State” that runs our country

What is the “Deep State” and what does it have to do with the direction Trump wants to take America?

Amy Goodman of Democracy Now and Glenn Greenwald of Intercept. Greenwald now lives in Brazil for fear of his life as the result of the role he played in exposing the Snowden files and because the U.S. does not recognize same sex marriages.

The “Deep State” is the unaccountable bureaucracy that exists in the nooks and crannies of the CIA, NSA, State Department, Department of Justice, IRS and countless other government entities that govern our lives and futures. These Deep State guardians do not run for office, are usually appointed or hired for their loyalty and discretion and will long outlast any senator, congressman or president that occupies temporary positions of power. They are the small greedy power brokers that disdain not only the governors but the governed as well.

Donald Trump is, without a doubt, one of the most radical outspoken politicians ever to occupy the White House and while there is much to criticize in his wavering positions and proclamations, he nonetheless, was duly elected and is ultimately accountable to the public every four years or longer. The Deep State structure has no such limitations, yet it, without conscience or mercy, can assassinate, manipulate, lie, and ignore public opinion. Such is the nature and intended design of agencies such as the CIA/NSA, military industrial complex, and mainstream corporate controlled media in that they can do or say whatever they want without fear of recrimination or punishment. They are the gods of war, taxation, propaganda, birth and death.

I discovered this video interview on “Democracy Now” a reputable alternative news media outlet that is run by Amy Goodman, a broadcast journalist, syndicated columnist, investigative reporter, and author. In this segment she discusses with Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald of Edward Snowden fame the nature of the Deep State and its implications for American Democracy.

Private security for Dakota Access Pipeline unleash attack dogs on Native American protesters

14192001_1765764610379236_3849715245290385894_nA private security firm, guarding the highly controversial construction of a $3.8 billion oil pipeline, turned mercenary last weekend and were caught on video unleashing vicious attack dogs against a sizable crowd of peaceful protesters — including women and children. And now, the only people to be punished for the vicious attacks, are the ones who filmed it.

Saturday evening, Democracy Now! announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for T.V. host and executive producer Amy Goodman. Goodman, along with a team from the media outlet, were in North Dakota last week to cover the protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).

Over 100 Native American tribes, some from as far as Mexico and Canada, have gathered to block the construction of the (DAPL) pipeline that not only poses a risk of future rupture and water contamination but also disturbance of local habitats. It further trespasses on Sioux sacred burial grounds.

Who’s providing the funding for the DAPL?

A new investigation by Hugh MacMillan of Food & Water Watch reveals the dozens of financial institutions that are bankrolling the Dakota Access pipeline (Energy Transfer Partners) , including Bank of America, HSBC, UBS, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase. “They are banking on this company and banking on being able to drill and frack for the oil to send through the pipeline over the coming decades,” MacMillan says. “So they’re providing the capital for the construction of this pipeline.”

"If you like your medicine man, you can keep your medicine man."

“If you like your medicine man, you can keep your medicine man.”

The actual construction is being done by Energy Transfer Partners LP with over 3.5 billion in loans from private investors, Donald Trump being one of those investors. So you can see their is great pressure for the federal courts to approve the construction; the mainstream media that refuses to cover the issue in detail other than to acknowledge it in passing; and the Obama administration to cater to the large banks.

Key partners in the venture are Phillips 66 and Sunoco.

Obama had ordered a temporary halt to the the construction until further study had been conducted but the federal Courts allowed the construction to continue. Obama’s lukewarm support to the Indian tribes is typical of his track record of broken promises.

Energy Transfer Partners also lied to the public by stating that the pipeline would help make America energy independent restricting distribution and consumption to U.S. outlets, but in reality there are plans to export this oil thus profiting the large U.S. oil cartel that want to control the oil market. The greedy bastards are at it again.

How the U.S. violates International Law: Bolivia and the Edward Snowden search for political assylum

This video from Democracy Now, describes the behind the scenes arm twisting by the U.S. upon European nations during the flight of Edward Snowden from Hong Kong to Russia.

Truth and Consequence: We know the truth but where is the consequence?

The world has changed drastically since 9/11 but the the worst change is that politicians have found the new fears to be a solid platform for attempting to take away the rights of American citizens in the name of security.

In the video below, Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange.org is seen interviewing congressmen Walter Jones and Thomas Massie on releasing the 28 classified pages from the 9/11 Report, the result of an investigation by Congress that has been stifled by both the Bush and Obama administrations for the past 10 years. The report actually proves who sponsored the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York.

Immediately after 9/11, dozens of Saudi royals and members of the bin Laden family fled the U.S. on 6 chartered airplanes in a secret airlift authorized by the Bush White House even though all air traffic had been halted by the FBI. According to Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, The planes were chartered by either the Saudi Royal Family or Osama Bin Laden himself.

Those who have read the report, and its missing classified 28 pages, say it identifies Saudi Arabia and elements within al Qaeda as responsible for 9/11.

Since the Bush family had close personal and business ties with the Saudi Royal Family it implies prior knowledge by certain Washington insiders that might have gone as high as the Office of the President and certainly the Neoconservatives that dominated the global politics of Washington during the Bush Administration. Given that, why did George W. Bush decide to invade Iraq and why are we fighting in Afghanistan today?

Release of these critical, previously redacted 28 pages, could implicate many high level officials and puts into question the legitimacy of the war on terror and the subsequent invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.

Watch Amy Goodman of Democracy Now call for accountability at a recent discussion on The Bush Doctrine and Combating Terrorism.

Full torture report may never see the light of day: courage and truth is missing in Washington D.C.

Senator Mark Udall, outgoing senator from Colorado

Senator Mark Udall, outgoing senator from Colorado

Do you think an outgoing Democratic senator, who has nothing to lose, would have the courage to place into the Congressional record, the full senate report on torture which was heavily redacted by the CIA? The senator facing that dilemma is Senator Mark Udall, who lost his seat to a Republican opponent in the Republican sweep of the Senate last November.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Select Senate Intelligence Committee released an executive summary of the damning report earlier this month, which even though heavily redacted (blacked out) shows treatment so inhumane it boggles the mind. Cattle being led to slaughter are treated better than the prisoners that were interrogated by the CIA.

There is legal precedent for a senator to “enter into the record” sensitive classified documents that political administrations or the opposing party do not want made public. Senator Mark Udall has until January 3, 2015 to make history by telling the truth about how this country treats prisoners of war.

Call Senator Udall at 202-224-5941 or 202-224-6471 and urge him to enter into the Congressional Record all the atrocities committed by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. You can also comment via his website at http://www.markudall.senate.gov/?p=contact_us

Obama is confident that individual congressmen will not go against his orders less they suffer from a loss of political capital and retribution . Senator Udall needs your help in bucking this institutional intimidation. He can only do it if the American people support disclosure and transparency. Call him, write him, email him, only have one week left.

Below is a video of Amy Goodman of Democracy Now interviewing Mike Gravel who is pleading with Senator Udall to reveal the entire torture report, much like he did in 1971 when then-Alaska Senator Mike Gravel entered more than 4,000 pages of the 7,000-page Pentagon Papers into the Senate record, insisting the public had a right to know the truth behind the Vietnam War.

This kind of political courage always reminds me of Jimmy Stewart in the old movie classic, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.” A trailer is embedded below.

Incidentally, I served with Jimmy’s Stewart’s adopted son, Marine 1st Lt. Ron McLean, in Vietnam. We were assigned to the 3rd Recon Battalion which patrolled in and around the DMZ or Demilitarized Zone between North and South Vietnam. According to one of his men, he had a premonition he would not return. I recall he was quiet, unassuming and not afraid to take leadership. He died on June 6, 1969, after his recon patrol was ambushed, followed by a 12- hour fire fight. Semper Fi, Marine.

The Koch brothers make over 13 million dollars a day and they want to eliminate the minimum wage

Charles and David Koch have funneled millions of dollars to conservative candidates and causes over the last four decades while working tirelessly to open the floodgates for money in politics. The Koch brothers’ net worth tops $100 billion, currently tying for fourth on the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans. Their rise to becoming two of the nation’s most powerful political figures is explored in the new book, “Sons of Wichita: How the Koch Brothers Became America’s Most Powerful and Private Dynasty.” The story is based on hundreds of interviews with Koch family and friends, as well as thousands of pages of legal documents.

Democracy Now’s  Nermeen Shaikh and Amy Goodman interview Daniel Schulman, author of a new book on the infamous Koch brothers, “Sons of Wichita: How the Koch Brothers Became America’s Most Powerful and Private Dynasty.”
